How to clean belly button piercing help??

So I just got my piercing done today and I've been reading online everywhere you have to clean it with salt and water or something. But where I got it done the guy who did it never told me that so he just gave me a paper and antiobitic cream to clean it 2 times a day but never said anything about salt. Do I have to use salt or just follow what the instructions say?

I use salt water rinse and just hold a cup over my belly button and shake it a little for a few minutes. Anytime it'd get really aggravated I'd pour peroxide all over it and keep a pool of it in my belly button until it quit bubbling, but this can dry the skin so you don't want to do it often especially while it's new.

Dissolve sea salt in warm water and use that a few times a day. You can also dilute tea tree oil after a few days to help it heal. My cousin's a professional piercer and that's what he had me do for all my piercings & I've never had complications with any. :)

Honestly best bet is antibacterial soap and water. Wash it twice daily and leave it alone and let it heal. Ive had mine for almost 8 years now.

They sell the salt water mixture at the piercing places usually. It's called like h2ocean I think you can get it online too. Don't use antibiotic oitment, it needs to breathe to heal and that will just seal in everything.

My husbands a professional piercer, don't ever use peroxide, its so bad for new piercings. You can buy sea salt water or use non scented anti bacterial soap on a qtip then of course rinse it off with hot water. Don't use rubbing alcohol either.

I never used salt. & ive had mine done 7 years.

I didn't play with it & I cleaned it with anti-bacterial soap. & I didn't swap out my ring for maybe 2 months. Never had any infections or issue

You don't use regular salt. You use a combination of sea salt and water. You can find the recipe online. :) I don't suggest using cream. I was told that it can shut off air flow and cause infections, but that's just me. Wash it twice a day with antibacterial soap and soak it in the sea salt mixture.
