Cancelling plans?

Question

Do you think it’s time to consider canceling summer plans? I have a weekend trip to Florida planned for late June.
Also I have four of my best friends getting married this year! First wedding is in august and second is destination in September. Do you guys think these will still be happening?
Don’t want to be a downer but things aren’t looking great :(

I agree about taking it month by month. We don't know enough about this to know how things will turn out. But honestly I don't see harm in keeping summer plans until a few weeks beforehand and then canceling if need be. Most airlines and hotels are refunding money or giving credit because everyone is pretty understanding at this point (plus I don't think they want to be associated with any potential outbreaks because they wouldn't cancel for people who asked).
I would at least look at their websites to see their policy or cancellations or postponements.

Its good to start thinking ahead. Things are so uncertain right now, I’d take it on a month-to-month basis, personally. But totally up to you if you are uncomfortable committing to those events.

i would still commit to them! What state are you in? I am in NY and were reaching our apex this weekend though I hope people DO NOT do anything until end of may but I am hoping by June it will be semi back to normal

I'm basically assuming none of our plans this summer will come through, but going it won't affect my best friend's wedding in October. We're supposed to go to the beach end of June and my family is still being optimistic that we can go even though the state we're going to has no end date for their stay at home orders. And my dad cage leave our state until the state of emergency is lifted due to his job. But the hotel said they'd roll out payment over to same week next year (we go the same time every year) so we don't have to actually cancel anything. I'd rather accept it now and be happily surprised that we can go, than keep saying we're going age at the last minute had to accept it.

Unfortunately yeah it looks bad. I have a wedding to go to in September and I’m wondering if they will even be allowed to have that many people in one place then? 
At this rate it doesn’t look like we will get my step daughter for the whole summer like we normally do. I’m pretty sad about that. 😢

Honestly no I don’t think they will be better by summer, at least not to the point of big gatherings being ok. It’s a kind of wait and see thing. If by 2 weeks before things aren’t looking up then I’d cancel, I don’t think it’ll get better until most people get the virus and hopefully live or there’s a vaccine available.
