What would you do if you have a choice for nursery flooring

Hardwood and then a throw rug to put down for decoration and crawling time when baby is old enough.

We had tile that looked like wood and I loved it. We had a rug down too but I always put a blanket over the rug for playtime because it was a nightmare trying to get spit up out of the rug. Carpet gets so nasty and is so hard to clean. It holds allergens and dust and spit up and blowouts and smells. We’ve moved and I have carpet in the bedrooms now and can’t afford to get it replaced at the moment and it’s killing me and my allergies. But all of the carpet hating aside I loved the wood laminate or the wood looking tile because it was so durable. It didn’t scratch and with the tile we didn’t have to worry about spills, staining, or specific cleaning products. I think real wood is absolutely beautiful but I’ve seen enough of how kids destroy them that I won’t get them.

I think hardwood is much nicer, in any room. Carpets get gross, and I'm much more of a fan of putting a rug down if you want something soft.

I really like wooden floors, but except for the master bedroom all the other bedrooms are upstairs so wood would be way too noisy when the kids are older, therefore my choice for our home is carpet.

We pulled up the carpet in our nursery and put down laminate flooring. It looks like hard wood, but was a ton cheaper. I didn't feel comfortable putting my little girl on carpet that wasn't band new. The previous owners of our house had a dog and were not clean people. I had no idea what had been on that carpet and had seeped in.

Carpet can breed allergy issues. But it’s softer. We did hardwood in the nurseries but the carpet was super old so didn’t have the newer protective stuff. So we have bamboo floors with rugs
