Butalbital, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine??

Hi ladies! I’ve had pretty intense migraines since I was a kid. This is my 3rd pregnancy and they have only gotten worse! Nothing helps, diet, caffeine, Tylenol, Benadryl, and as I’m home with my son since I’m laid off, I can’t take the pain while caring for my 3 year old. My doctor prescribed Butalbital, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine to help. Has anyone had experience with it during pregnancy? I take migraine prevention normally but it’s not safe while pregnant. I’m just wondering if anyone has any feed back on it and if it’s helped you at all.

Yes I’ve been taking that as well. Normally I am on topamax and maxalt for my migraines, both are obviously a big no no while pregnant. It seems to help take the edge off for me. However, I just read up on it a little bit and affects to baby are a little concerning to me. But obviously all of our OB’s are prescribing it so I am sure it is just fine

Yes I took it with my most recent pregnancy. 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours. I found that I had to take 2 and at least twice before it was effective for me. However, I have history of migraines.
It did help if I took it and slept a few hours. Sometimes I'd need an additional boost of caffeine with it. So a small 5-6oz cup of coffee or mountain dew would help.

Yes! I’ve taken it. My prescription says to take 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours and for me, if I take 2, I fall asleep and wake up feeling so much better. One did not help me much.  But this is a lifesaver! 
The first time, be sure you don’t have anything to do. It does make you feel a little off.
