Sent Home During Labor?

Question

My roommate was sent home from the hospital at 4cm dilated and having contractions every 2 mins. Am I just naive or is that kinda dangerous? Like, she’s actively in labor!

It sounds like maybe she hasn't made much progress with dilating and due to that she was sent home..
Some women labor, with close contractions for hours leading up to days. 
She could still be in the early stages of her labor. Its common in my area for them to send you home if little to no progress is made.

If she wasn’t progressing that’s probably why they sent her home. A lot of women wait until the last minute to go to the hospital anyways I mean is it dangerous? Eh if anyone she would’ve had to call the ambulance if she though she was having the baby when she got home. I was in labor for hours, waited for my water to break at home and waited a little longer until I went to the hospital when I got there I was 7cm and contractions were super close. It was my second child so I knew what was going to happen but with my first I was 2cm super strong contractions, yes the hospital kept me even though I wasn’t progressing but they only kept me because I was the only patient there.

When I was in labor they wanted to send me home because I hadn’t progressed in an hour of being there. I was in a lot of pain and they left it up to me whether or not I wanted to stay, and I stayed (thank god). I gave birth less than 12 hours later.

When I was in labor I came to the hospital and I was 4 cm as well and they kept me,they didn’t send me back home and I was having strong contractions . I think that she should be in hospital.
