Can anyone explain to me the whole TTC process with the strips and how to use them to tell if you’re ovulating or pregnanct ?

When the lines on the test are the same color it means you’re about to ovulate. You test once a day until you hit peak.

There are 2 different types of test strips, one that tests if you're ovulating, and another that tests if you're pregnant. I got a big pack of cheap ones from amazon that had some of both, like 3/4 ovulation strips and 1/4 pregnancy. You do the ovulation ones every day around when your fertile window would be, and the pregnancy tests at the end of your cycle when you're expecting your period. 
After a couple cycles, if you are pretty regular, you have a good idea of how to time things out. If your results are all over the place and don't show a pattern, check with your doc, you might not be ovulating.
