Can You Pat Your Head and Rub Your Stomach?

I am taking a psychology course online and in today’s lecture the professor was talking about the left and ride sides of our brain and the different functions for each side. He made a comment that people can not rub their stomachs and pat their heads at the same time. In the reading material for the lecture it said that the average person can not do it. But I can! And I didn’t realize that was abnormal? So what I’m wondering is if you can pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time?

I’m very surprised your professor said people can’t do it... 
I took psychology and I know the example they’re referring to with left vs right brain. It is very difficult for some people to do both, and it depends on if they’re more “right brained” or “left brained”. 
I’ve always been able to pat my head and rub my tummy, even as a kid, and without any difficulty. But my brothers could NEVER do it! 😂
