Rude ultrasound tech?!?!?!? UPDATE!!!

UPDATE: So I picked my hubby up from work today and told him about how upset I still was about my experience and how not knowing the sex of our baby yet was really driving me mad and he said we could pay the $100 to have the elective 4D Early Gender ultrasound done!!! I called Baby Envision right away and I have an appointment with them this Sunday! I couldn't be more excited and happy! I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful man! ❤️ Thank you ladies for all of your support today!

I went in at fifteen weeks to have an ultrasound done and I asked the ultrasound tech to try and see the sex of the baby and she said absolutely not. She was completely rude to my fiancé and I and said she won't waste her time looking because it "won't be 100% accurate anyways" I had literally been waiting since I was 9 weeks for this specific ultrasound because I thought I would be able to find out the sex of my baby or at least look to try and guess based on what I saw. She completely sucked the fun out of it and I was so sad and frustrated I wanted to cry! She wouldn't even let me see to take my own guess! I get that maybe she didn't want to confirm the sex because there's a possibility she could have been wrong but at least LOOK! We looked up places I could get an elective ultrasound done and it was over $100 to have it done! I just don't have that kind of money.  Has anyone else been told NO about finding out the sex of their baby?! 😡

Aww sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I can't imagine the excitement and anticipation to get it dashed like that. It's typically at 20 weeks when they tell you but she could have been a little nicer. Geez.

I had a similar experience at my anatomy scan. I had my headband and son with and was hoping it would be a neat thing for them to see. She was rude, fast, had the wand on the genitals for all of two seconds and didn't even look at the face or give me any pictures! I wanted to cry, the elective ultrasound place where I live is $170! So that's out of the question unfortunately :( sorry you had a bad experience as well.

That would piss me off. Regardless of how much you actually paid for the ultrasound it depends on your insurance but they got paid 300$ at least for performing it. You should be able to take a damn look at the sex. I would call my obs office and complain

I believe ultrasound techs aren't allowed to discuss anything on what they see. But a lot of times you get nice ones that will talk to you throughout the scan and point out everything. I had a few rude ones this time but thankfully on my 14 week I had a nice one and we looked at the sexes and I saw a penis for Baby A then in Baby B it was unclear. So she said I don't know could be a girl but can't be sure. She gave us pictures and all.

That's crazy, these days they can certainly tell that early. Mine could see the sex at 12 weeks and another one could see again at 15 weeks, each time they said it was a girl and my Harmony Blood test confirmed it was indeed a girl.

Sounds like she wasn't confident in her work and was taking a bad day out on her patients.

That's horrible. I had blood work done at 10 weeks to find out what I'm having. Guess all doctors are different.

My ultrasound tech did this yesterday when my mom asked. She said "the baby is too small to tell"? I know its possible since if I went to an elective ultrasound specifically for gender, they'd tell me. But I guess she assumed we didn't know that you could tell the gender this early. She would go near the butt/legs and wouldn't even attempt to go near that area 😒 Plus she moved it around so much I barely got a good look at anything. They rushed me out 😔 it was my first appointment to.

Well that's weird but I wanted my baby sex to be a surprise so every time I got one I told them not to tell me it was excited to be surprised

I've never been refused a guess, ever and I'm on baby #4. I've had them say best guess is its this or that, but its too early so don't get too excited or take it 100% because it could show up opposite next time, I had to wait until my very last ultrasound at 33 weeks with my 1st daughter because she wouldn't uncross her legs to get a good look. But never had them refuse to try to look except obviously my 1st ultrasound at 9 weeks

Yeah the doctors offices refuse to do it that early. I don't know where you live but I only paid 40$ to have it done at 15 weeks and they got it right.
