Baby Shower Etiquette

For those of you who have had babies of the same gender close together (ours will be less than two years apart), did you have a baby shower for your second baby as well? My family REALLY wants to throw us a shower, however I feel like we JUST had one, as our first is only 18 months old.

This would be a very small brunch with just the closet family and friends, I’m just nervous people will think “oh my gosh, we JUST got them something”. I am planning to not even include our small registry on the invitation, to hopefully alleviate any pressure to get a gift.

Am I completely overthinking this? What are your honest feelings about showers for second baby? Thank you!!!!
