Midwives brew?

I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and I am getting induced next week they really don’t want me to go past 39 weeks because I had complications with my 1st pregnancy and we don’t know why baby didn’t make it I had him as a stillborn at around 20-24weeks so that’s why they want to induce me with this pregnancy and I was wondering if the midwives brew works? The specialist wants me induced at 38 weeks 0 days - 38 weeks 7 days.

I was in your exactish situation. My daughter was stillborn at 22w5d but we knew why. With my second daughter I was induced at 39 weeks. I was terrified to be induced again & I tried castor oil. HOWEVER, I didn’t do ANY research before hand. I wish I did. For starters it’s absolutely HELL. I can’t imagine going through the pain of labor with the condition that that shit puts your body in. Projectile puking, diarrhea, sweats, chills.. I felt like death. It started contractions, I was admitted to L&D .. then they stopped after 3 hours and I was induced on my original induction date. On top of all that castor oil is beyond dangerous, it can make your baby poop inside of you and they can die. Thankfully my girl was okay but given the whole reasoning of them inducing you early is because they don’t know why your baby died .. I wouldn’t risk this baby’s over a few more days of being pregnant.

My midwife was all for it as long as it’s done under supervision of a care provider that understands how it works. The ingredients are suppose to Balance xe each other but idk bc I never did it.

I was recommended castor oil by my MW only when I made it to 41 weeks as the risk of meconium being passed in the womb is higher then anyways and I was set to be induced 2 days later. I wouldnt do it as early as you are because it honestly probably wont put you into labor and your baby could pass meconium which can put s/he at risk and this early it is not common at all for babies to pass it in the womb. You may go into false labor for a few hours and it will just wear you out before your scheduled induction. If you want to try a more natural approach to your medical induction then you can recommend starting with the Foley Bulb if you are dilated at all instead of the medication. Its common for women who have the Foley bulb to have their water break naturally after removal due to the change in pressure.
