My son transitioned himself to one nap at around 10 months. I wouldn’t transition if baby isn’t showing signs of readiness to do so.

Why? I go by my sons cues - so currently my almost 9 month old needs 2 naps and when he is ready to go to one It’ll be obvious just like all the other times he’s dropped a nap

Around 12 months most of the babys ready for only one nap, for my baby girl it happened only at 15 months. If you feel your baby is ready and dont need more naps then do it.

Thanks for the quick feedback! She has been fighting her second nap for WEEKS now. I suspected early regression due to learning to walk (just starting to take steps) but I'm not entirely convinced. I was strict and cut her first nap to MAX 1hr in hopes her second nap would go better. It worked a few times but mostly failed. I can't bring myself to keep being strict about her first nap since she refuses to nap the second time. Today I am trying to do one long nap and figure if she naps a solid 2.5 hours, I can't complain. I've done lots of reading and most say this is too young but it is insane how much she's fighting it. Night sleep gets disturbed off an on but only when she has bad days of skipping her second nap.

No my son naturally transfers himself, so definitely is getting close to one nap stage but not yet. I definitely don't force him to be awake, he still needs 2 naps per day .

Both of mine transitioned around 10/11 months. I wasn't ready for it but they did it on their own. Lol.

Is your 11 month old not sleeping through the night? Is the naps over 4+ hrs in length? At what time are the 2 naps now? My daughter was 16 months before we dropped her second nap.
