Would you ever call CPS on your family?

I HATE having to do this but I’m considering calling CPS on my parents because I worry about the environment my younger sisters are being raised in. My dad is mentally abusive and an alcoholic, who is also very aggressive and controlling. My mom is an enabler and lets it all happen. I’ve seen my dad manipulate my sisters and threaten to assault someone and commit suicide in front of them. 
My mom BEGS us all to not call and even asked me to lie to CPS when we had a case opened on us not even a year ago but I feel like I need to. She even told me she feels she has to stay by him out of concern he’ll go batshit crazy. 
It weighs heavy on me but I don’t want my sisters to live like this. 
I’m 18 and moved out because I couldn’t stand him controlling every aspect of my life. I got fired from my first job because he cussed the manager out for no real reason. (🤦🏼‍♀️). Every week or two, he would start a fight about something dumb and escalate it to threats. He’s threatened animals. He’s stolen over $6,000 from my brother. He stole $1,000 from me when I was only 16.  He lies, ALL the time.

You shouldn’t have lied to CPS. I would 100% call CPS on anyone if necessary. Family or not, well being of minors comes first.

Not only would I, but I have had to. It's a hard situation to be in for sure but I had to do what was right for the kids.

Call ASAP. What? Parents or not, those are your sisters, children who cant defend themselves great. If your mother isnt doing it, then step up and do it yourself.  I wish that someone would have CPS on my dad.  But she he was family noone ever did.

Are you able to take them in? I know you're young. You could petition for guardianship and get them out of the situation that way. I'm not against CPS, I work in social work but on the adult side, but it will probably take time because they have to investigate if they accept the case at all.

I called CPS on my mom not too long ago I’m 21 I don’t live with my mom & I haven’t since I was 14 years old & she dropped me off at at my friends house & never came back but that’s a whole other story. Anyways I called them on her cause I talk to my little sister who is 13 & she tells me things that she does & I also hear from other people. My mother is just a horrible person all around so I called but because my sisters & brother aren’t in immediate danger they won’t do anything... my mom used to BEAT THE SHIT out of my big sister & I when we were kids I should’ve done something back then. But it sounds like you should call CPS just do it anonymously & don’t tell anyone 🤷🏻‍♀️￼

If you feel it's necessary, do what your gut tells you to do. You're looking out for them, and would definitely feel horrible if anything happened to them. You can call in anonymous as well.

I’ve called cps a few times on a family member. I would do it again if I have to. The well being of the kids come first. No matter what!

How old is your sister? Is she the only sibling still left in the house?

If you don’t call on them, who will? Call them ASAP. File a report. 
Idgaf if the person I’m calling CPS on is family, friend, or someone I barely know. If I know or suspect a child is in danger or unsafe, I will call. Period.
