Do cervical checks hurt?

I'm 38 weeks and getting my first cervical check. I'm really nervous, do they typically hurt a lot? Pap smears have never hurt me, if that is relevant.

I have a high cervix so mine are always REALLY uncomfortable but there is no pain and definitely no lingering pain afterwards

You can opt out of it, it’s not necessary.

With my daughters, omg yes .. with my son not at all. The “pain” is more of an intense pressure and is definitely worse when you tense up. Easier said than done, but try to relax!

I just had my first one. It wasnt pleasant but it didnt last long and I felt fine after. Good luck!

I honestly think Pap smears are worse than the cervical checks. I guess it could depend on the doctor though?

Pap smears don’t bother me either. Cervical check was just uncomfortable and felt like sharp pressure. It’s very quick though.
