Easter egg hunt - essential or not?
My neighbors had an Easter egg hunt yesterday in our shared courtyard that included my porch in our garden unit. The parents were making a “genuine attempt” at being mindful. That being said there was an egg at the edge of my property so the kids ended up on my porch looking through my lawn chairs and garden.
I was pissed because I’m pregnant so I’m high risk and go to the doctor frequently during the pandemic. If they get it because of me that would be awful.
So I said something through my door window to the mom so I did not break my quarantine but she perceived that as yelling and now an all out war has started in our shared community spaces.
Instead of letting this go since they were not being mindful neighbors during a pandemic they saw that I got contactless delivery today and sent me a nasty text asking me to wipe down the keypad entry, (which I do anyways every time I use it). Also today they asked our HOA to forbid all food delivery. Last I checked that was a CDC approved activity and Traditional Easter activities were canceled.
Lastly I forgot to mention during the egg hunt they attracted other kids from different homes outside who had to be told by their own parents that they could not participate because that would put them at risk. I have a small child at home too and I had to make the hard decision to not celebrate Easter yesterday as well.
Did anyone else have a traditional Easter egg hunt in a shared community space yesterday? Can you please explain the other side of this story? I keep trying to put myself in their shoes and all I can come up with is ignorance to the pandemic as their deductive reasoning.
