Mucus plug

I am currently 31 weeks 2 days , and I went to my doc appointment to get a transvaginal ultrasound ( short cervix ) and it measures between 2.5-2.3 . I just used the bathroom just now and I wiped and this brown blood mucus came out this is the second time I noticed it . Could labor be near?
