Her recommends sleep totals and wake windows are about right for our little guy - though were a bit aggressive on long wakes early on, when he wasn’t ready. However, I will warn anyone reading that for babies 5months old and above, Caras only solution is “controlled crying”. As in, you need to leave the room and not come back in for a certain number of minutes. And when you do check back in, don’t pick up baby, etc. some people love it ... or love the result of more sleep / less crying after a week or two. But the method was too extreme for me to consider. My momma instincts say “don’t leave baby alone”. And I have the privilege to be able to do that and still get sleep.

We bought the newborn and 4-5 month class. Did not work at all. Maybe they work for a baby who is more predictable, but our kid wakes up after 6 hours one night and 3 the next. Sometimes he eats during the day, sometimes he wants to eat at night. Doing SITBACK for 3 hours was just not feasible. 
We’re bedsharing instead. We get more sleep this way. He’ll sleep in his own space when he’s ready.
