Would you consider yourself to be a “picky eater”?
I was definitely an extremely picky eater as a child. As I got older, my pallet did expand, but I’m still a little chooses over what I cook or what I’ll eat at restaurants.
I get a little upset when my husband or his parents (or my mother) calls me a “picky eater” or makes comments like “it’s a new restaurant, but they have chicken fingers for kids like you.” I try not to let it bother me, but it’s embarrassing when we’re going out to eat and they make a big deal about making sure it’s “somewhere I’ll eat,” as though it’s my fault we can’t go somewhere other than my favorites. I’m not a child, I don’t make faces or spit out foods I don’t like. I’m more than capable of eating a salad or “grown up” dish. I just have a hard time trying or cooking new foods.
My husband made a comment about us not having a very “diverse” meal plan, so I was wondering if you consider yourself a picky eater and if so, can you share some of your favorite recipes? Maybe something you tried that you thought you wouldn’t like but turns out you love?
