Hi ladies!

I had a miscarriage in Feb and was blessed with our rainbow baby in March. My midwife is having me do a dating scan this upcoming Friday which I’m stoked about. It sounds like most women have this done during their pregnancies, but I never had one with my daughter (1st pregnancy). I ONLY had an ultrasound at 20 weeks.

So, I guess, I am just wondering what I should expect at this appointment? I assume that the tech will check baby’s vitals and everything surrounding baby as well as see how baby is measuring. Is there anything else for me to be aware of? They just told me to drink 32 ounces of water slowly starting 1.5 hours prior. Side note: they didn’t have any appointments available with the maternal fetal medicine department, so I’m getting it done in the radiology department (I’m not sure if this is normal or will change things). I’m guessing that I am about 7 weeks pregnant, but my midwife is guessing that I’m closer to 8. I am just praying that this baby is safe and healthy and growing!
