Metformin without confirmed PCOS?

My posts have been all over the place lately, so sorry if you’ve seen multiple of me. Has anyone had success taking metformin without confirmed PCOS? My doctor will not prescribe Femara but said that I could switch to Metformin instead. I had bloodwork done and didn’t have any markers for PCOS, but she’s hopeful it’ll still help regulate my cycles. Any experience? I feel like I’m grasping at straws for hope during this. Thanks in advance!

I take metformin and my cycles have been right on track. Sucky part is the pills make you shit like a goose 💩

My first FET I wasn’t mentioned PCOS but more tubal factor. This time around I mentioned I had spotting inbetween periods (only 1 cycle) and the new doctor said it sounded like PCOS. She did my bloodwork and my AMH came out 14 which she said was consistent with PCOS. 🤷🏼‍♀️ she had prescribed me metformin which I only lasted on for 3 days cause I was throwing up 1 night all night. So I pretty much told her I didn’t wanna be on it anymore. So now Im in the process of going back to my original doctor who did my first FET. I want to see what she has to say about all these new findings. I wanna see if there’s something Else besides taking metformin. Not sure tho.🙁

I haven’t got the hair growth pattern either but I was diagnosed because I had follicles on my ovaries / non existent periods. I started Metformin almost 2 weeks ago, beware that some lady’s have absolute horror stories of their side effects on metformin! But I’ve (touch wood!) been absolutely fine as I’ve cut down on carbs and sugar and take my tablet after a meal. When will you be starting it? Good luck to you mama 💕

I was prescribed it last month and I don't have PCOS. I'm not entirely sure how it's supposed to help, haven't read 100% into it.
