I’m 38+1, I’ve been having these period like cramps since yesterday — very mild and inconsistent. Today, after having sex twice, they’re coming in every 10 minutes or so and it’s starting to get pretty intense. I also got the feeling that I needed to poop, and after I did, I still felt pretty crampy. Is this early labor?

Update: Water broke at 6 am, contractions started at 6:30 and were 2 minutes apart. The hospital is about 30 minutes away, so when we got to the hospital, my contractions were 1 minute apart and were so freaking intense. Checked me at 8:15, 100% effaced and dilated to 5-6 cm. After getting registered and checked in, I had to wait 30 minutes for an epidural and almost passed out due to the pain. Got the epidural at 9:15 am, came back at 10 to check me again and I was at 7 cm. Started having the shakes after the epidural. Checked me again at 12 pm, I was an 8, and then checked me the last time at 1, and I was at a 10. We did some practice pushes, but they wanted to wait a little more for him to descend. Finally at 3, we started pushing and his head was right there. Pushed for 20 minutes and he was here 🥰 6 lbs and 8 oz & 19 inches long. He’s such a quiet, hungry little nugget and we’re so in love!
