i am a stay at home mom. it’s difficult some days. i envy the moms who get to go to work and have social interaction with adults on a daily basis. being a mom is a thankless job my dad always told me. staying home with my daughter i know she’s safe and happy but it is honestly a full time job, with no pay. sometimes i wish i got a paycheck again. but financially it makes sense to stay home. and she’s only little for so long. i love spending time with her, and new baby boy next month. you just have to weigh pros and cons for your family and go from there

Currently a stay at home mom. But we live on a farm... so I don’t know if that counts. I still do all the SAHM stuff. But I also have responsibilities outside. Aka. Checking cows, raising chickens, garden, lawn mowing, bookwork.... etc.

I’m currently a stay at home mom I have been for a very long time my son is 2 years old and I’ve only ever worked a few months last year. I miss working, I miss having extra cash, plus having social interactions, my mental health was definitely better when my routine wasn’t as constant but I would not trade caring for my child myself It isn’t always easy but I’m thankful. Time flies and I know when it’s time to send him to school I’ll probably cry lol also I’m due next month with a baby girl (:

I’m a stay at home mom and it is so hard!! I love that I am able to stay home and be with my kids but I miss adults. I miss working. I can’t wait to go back to work part time!! I suffer from depression, anxiety and OCD.. being at home makes it worse.

My husband and I both work full time and farm full time. We are expecting our first child in May and the topic of me staying home and just farming and being a SAHM is the hot topic. (I would only bring home 200 a month if our child was in daycare)

I do in home daycare so I am with my kids all day. If I could just be with my kids and have the freedom to go places (shopping, play dates, ecfe, parks, zoos) whenever we wanted that would be amazing! Doing daycare I am tied down to home most of the time.

I’m a working mom plus own a business. During normal, non quarantined times, being a working mom gets lonely. I feel like that’s something you don’t hear but I definitely feel. I’m at work all day trying to take care of other people and make them happy when really, I just want to be home with my daughter taking care of her and making her happy. With my business I’m taking care of people making sure they’re set up and have whatever needs taken care of, reminders set, etc. I have to drag my toddler with me to my business after work where she does enjoy going, but it cuts into my time I get to spend with her. Time is my hardest hurdle with working. I get 2.5 waking hours with my toddler after my day job during the week. That’s interrupted by business appointments and making dinner. And if I had a stressful day in the office I have to make sure I check that at the door bc I don’t want to ruin the only 2.5 waking hours I have with my kid that day. Then when she goes to bed, like actually asleep, I need to pick up dinner and catch up with household chores before I can sit back. I’m honestly so stressed over how I’m going to do it with two kids. I know people do, but the guilt over lack of time hurts me. We are not in a financial situation where I can stay home. We’re blessed day care in our rural area is so low cost, and her day care provider is absolutely amazing. But I find myself getting jealous of her and the time she gets with my daughter. 
With quarantine, my business had to be shut down and my full time job is now part time. I’ve been able to stay home with my almost 3 year old for 4-5 days at a time, then I take her with me to my office when I work 2-3 days at a time. We’re together 24/7 right now. Granted this isn’t my normal, I feel like this lifestyle is an absolute dream. I’ve been able to play outside more with my child, take our time cooking and baking together (her favorite activities, she’ll be teaching me what to do soon), and just slow down. We live life with very little time constraints and its so freeing. Sometimes, we just sit in the rocking chair and cuddle. It’s amazing!! I can definitely see where being a SAHM would want some “me” time or a way to feel like herself (wearing real clothes and make up goes out the window when I’m home). As a working mom I definitely get the feeling of wanting me time as well. I work with adults and have adult conversations however it’s all in respect to taking care of others needs, not in a social “let’s just catch up” manner. 
I see a lot of SAHM versus working mom articles and i think it’s safe to say, each has their strong points and their hurdles. What one mom may see as a difficulty may be another moms strong want. Everyone is different. It’s important to evaluate what your interests are and what’s possible. Many people say working part time is the sweet spot. You can try one lifestyle and if it doesn’t work - switch it up! If you’re able to financially of course. Either way, we’re all just trying to do what’s best for our families!

So my adivice maybe get a part time job of like one day out of the week or weekends some thing for you to be able to have time away and also have your own money

My husband will be a stay at home dad. He has mental and physical health problems that make it dangerous to be in a stressful office environment, so we decided he will raise the kiddies and I will earn a living. He will still work from home. Luckily, he's the better cook so it all works out 🤣
