Drive through baby shower

Chantelle

When I found out i was pregnant, my husband and I were living abroad. We decided to go to our home country (in September 2019) so we could get medical care in English. I also have medical insurance in my home country, so most of my treatments are fully covered.

We moved in with my MIL and she began arranging a baby shower for me. I'd been abroad for two years and basically lost every friend I'd had in my home country but she got me socialized with her church friends and I'm less isolated now.

Earlier this year I met a new person who was in school with my husband. I adore her and she's really been helpful in prepping for baby. She took over the baby shower plans and made a huge deal out of it. Except the day it was supposed to happen was two days after my country went into lockdown.

She moved the date and then lockdown was extended. So, she suggested that people drive to our house and drop off their gifts and we'll have a party when everything is calm again.

Drive through baby shower is today and I'm so grateful for the support I've had through my pregnancy. I'm almost going to meet my boy as well so I just need to keep looking up at the silver linings in this time of chaos.

All the best to every expectant mom out there. We are stronger than this virus!
