Blistered nipple broke open?

Amber

Had my baby boy on Monday! Trying to EBF, so I'm hoping I can deal with this. After leaving the hospital, my little man was feeding and I noticed some pain. I kept readjusting baby thinking maybe he isn't latched right, but after he was done I noticed a blister on my nipple. It popped, but has left a sore. I've been applying nipple cream, but it hurts so much. Should I just feed off the other boob until the hole heals itself? Is there something I can do to relieve this pain? 😭😭

Coconut oil was a lifesaver when I nursed my first! The nipple creams didn’t work at all for me. We made it 18 months! I’m 33 weeks with baby #2, and I will definitely use coconut oil again with this babe. It gets better and easier! Hang in there mama!

Get a breast shield and use it until the wound has healed. Keep using lanolin frivolously on both nipples.

I would feed off the other boob but still pump the blistered one.
