Can I get pregnant if I had sex the day after taking plan B?
Here’s what happened...
On Monday, I started having pelvic pain and checked my copper IUD strings and I felt a hard bump, which I thought might be my IUD. Since I thought my copper IUD might be out of place, I decided to take plan B on Monday. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and she said my strings are in place and everything looks perfect. She sent me for an ultrasound at an imaging center because I was having pelvic pain. I got the ultrasound yesterday afternoon, and didn’t hear anything. My doctor didn’t tell me to abstain from sex, so my husband and I had sex last night. I got a call from the doctor this morning and she told me that my IUD actually is misplaced, and I’m not well protected. The IUD slipped into my lower uterine segment. Am I still covered from the plan B? Or do I need to take it again? I’m starting the progesterone only pill today because I’m breastfeeding.
Here’s a picture of my cycle. The purple circles represent the days I had sex. The orange circle represents the day I took plan B.
Thanks!!
