When to announce to the family (parents and in-laws)

I am in dilemma. Only my husband knows. I live abroad and only way to tell my family is online. It’s hard not to tell😞

With both of my pregnancies I’ve told immediate family and close friends almost immediately. I would need their support if something was to happen... so I wouldn’t want them to mourn a pregnancy with me that they never had the chance to celebrate.  I don’t make it “public” until after the first trimester. I’m almost 15 weeks and still haven’t officially announced.

Thank you all. I just could not resist and told my mom today. She was over the moon. I am sad cuz I could not tell her in person, hug her and see her smiling ( and her happy tears) She said can’t wait to fly to states. I am just praying this covid -19 situation gets over soon.

We do/did immediate family right after the first ultrasound and did the big announcement to other friends and family after the first trimester:)

I'm stuck on this one. What is the reason to not tell people you are pregnant? I understand young children who can't comprehend miscarriage. However, I know the only thing I wanted after my miscarriage was support and to not feel alone. I believe if people know you are pregnant they can offer you support for your pregnancy from the beginning or offer you support in the event that the pregnancy is lost.
