It’s different in a few ways. For one, your body will replace the milk expressed, if you’re pumping you may have under or over supply. Feeding directly from breast, baby will regulate your supply. 
Also, breast milk changes composition depending on baby’s needs. 1) Breast milk changes composition throughout the day depending on the time of day. 2) Breast milk changes nutritional composition to meet nutritional needs. 3) If baby is sick and nurses, the “backwash” of the salvia is sampled by mom’s body. Within 20 minutes, moms body is producing antibodies via breast milk to help baby recover faster. 
My son is a week shy of one and has never had a bottle. I only feed directly from my breasts.
