When to get off parent’s insurance?
Hi everyone! Last month I got hired by a company I’ve been contracting with for the past year. It’s a really good company, so offers a good salary, paid vacation, holidays, as well as benefits. I’m 23, and never had to deal with this before (one of my previous companies offered benefits but really bad insurance plans, so at 20 it was smarter to stay on my family’s plan). My mom’s insurance through her work is good and covers dependents up to 26. I don’t plan on staying with this company forever, as it’s not my career - I’m finishing school and am trying to get hired into my actual career in the next 2 years.
I’m also not dependent, I’ve been out on my own 100% since 20, I’m engaged, etc. Any advice?
