Told my boyfriend I won’t be having kids until we are married, am I wrong?

We have been together 4 years. He wants to have kids but I told him from the get go that I wanted to be married before having kids. He knows that. I reminded him that the other day when he asked if we could start TTC and he said I’m manipulating him into getting married? How am I manipulating anyone? I told him this at the beginning and he agreed. I don’t wanna have kids without having the title of being his wife. He keeps saying he wants to get married but later on after we have kids what do you all think I’m just confused and I don’t even know if we’re gonna work out anymore I’m just sad that this was a waste of time
