When did you put a blanket in the crib with your baby/toddler?

In Norway babies sleep with duvets from birth yes even at the hospital. And fascinating enough the infant mortality rate here is way lower than in the US.

My daughter just turned 20 months and we started a blanket with naps at 18 months and literally just gave her a small thin blanket at night starting 3 nights ago. I had a lot of anxiety about it.
It doesn’t cover her as she’s still in a sleep sack but she loves to cuddle up on it to fall asleep.

I started as a newborn. I know they say not to but I would swaddle him first and fold the little blanket in half then put it half way on him just because we like to keep the house cold at night.

I gave my baby a blanket for the first time last night. He’s 15 months. Pretty sure I checked on him at least 6 times because I was so nervous. He slept better with it so I guess he gets a blanket. I also ordered a toddler pillow that I gave him last week because he is always trying to sleep on my pillow. We started sleeping training last week so he got a pillow. He pretty much kept the blanket at his waist so no need for me to worry. 
My plan was not to give either until he was in a toddler bed but my child is a needy little booger so I’m having to change my plans.

we put a lovie in the crib with her at 12 months for calming purposes. We tried a blanket, but it’s pointless because she just kicks it off so at 14 months now we’re still using the halo sleep sack to keep her warm.

My baby has slept with a blanket from birth. When she was in a bassinet beside me, I laid a thin blanket up to her chest and tucked it in under the mattress so it wouldnt move. Once she started sleeping in her crib in her room around 7 months, I gave her one knitted breathable blanket so if it did go over her face, it was fine.
