Do you consider 99.2 a fever in kids

Yes I know 100.4 is technically a fever according to drs just curious to what other people out side the medical industry feels a fever is

It’s considered low grade. I wouldn’t take them into a doctors just yet, see if Tylenol keeps it down.

It's an elevated temp but not a fever. Working in childcare we start recording their temp and keeping an eye on them at that point.

If temp gets to 99, I start checking it every 30 min to an hour to make sure it hasn’t gone up. At 100 I give a fever reducer and continue to check every 30 min to an hour until it goes back down. I also do a lot of kiss on the forehead testing.

99.2 is absolutely a NORMAL temp. 100.4 is fever and only low grade. Kids have higher temp ranges than adults do.

I’ve always gone by 100 or higher as a rule. I usually don’t worry too much about a temp of 99 unless something else is going on.
