MIL visitations?
How would you tell your mother in law she can’t come visit our newborn unless they quarantine 2 weeks before baby is born/visit? My husbands family lives about 8 hours away and his dad is an essential worker and his mom can work from home but his dad is not taking all this serious. They do not visit the grandparents because they are high risk, and my thought is if they can’t visit them, what makes them think they can visit a newborn? They are constantly saying they will be here when I’m due no matter what but that concerns me a lot because I actually don’t want to put my baby at risk.
Update: So we FaceTime them last night. We told them our doctor said no visitations allowed unless they quarantine for 2 weeks or they will have to wait until baby is at least 2 months old to visit and that depends on how the situation is. My husband dad took it very well but the mom seem like she was pissed and replied with “I’ll have to think about it” I told them it was something we had to do for the health of our kids and no apologies were going to bring my baby back if something was to happen. At the end she said she was going to talk about it with her husband since she would probably have to quarantine at her daughters house since the dad is a 1st responder and won’t be able to take off. She honestly seemed more mad than sad but oh well🤷🏻♀️
My job is to protect my kids not to make them happy.
