My 4.5 year old is potty trained and wipes well for her age. I always check after she uses the bathroom to make sure she’s clean down there. She mentioned that her vagina hurt and then said she meant that it was itchy, not painful. After her bath I checked down there quickly and noticed quite a bit of white discharge. I always have that as I’m someone who just has a ton of discharge, but is that normal for a toddler? Our ped said it was normal in the past when I asked, but this was prior to her mentioning it was itchy. As a parent are you supposed to clean it or leave it alone? Also is she supposed to be thoroughly cleaning herself down there to get rid of that aside from just wiping gently after going to the bathroom? I can’t see how at her age she would be able to do that successfully. Sorry for all of the questions as shes my oldest and I have no friends with girls.
