Have you given birth during COVID-19?

Question

Would you please share your experience? Were you and your husband/support person tested when you got to the hospital? Did you have to wear a mask? If you tested positive, what happened? Could you have a partner? Did they take your baby away?

Answer

I gave birth on March 26th, but started induction on March 24th. I live in a state where there are about 1800 cases statewide, and 400 in the city where I live. 
I was only allowed to have my husband in the room, and we were not allowed to leave the room the entire time we were there. They didn’t have us wear masks, and the nurses didnt wear masks, however all of the Midwives that I had any contact with wore masks. 
One thing that was odd was that I was not allowed to use the gas Nitrous Oxide as pain relief, which the hospital usually has as an option, but honestly I was so out of it I don’t remember the exact reasoning. Something about covid19 spreading...? 
Anyways, leading up to my induction I was terrified they’d not let my husband in the room since that was still happening across the US and that restriction had not been lifted like it was for most hospitals. Everything else wasnt a big deal to me and I had my happy baby and husband with me ❤️ 
Now pediatric appointments have been weird and screenings have been pushed back until June so far...

I had a c-section last week. My husband was allowed in the OR. He was also allowed to come and go while the baby and I were in the hospital. We did have to wear masks when the hospital staff was in our room. The baby stayed with me the whole time.
