Mine didn’t use a speculum, but both vaginal and rectal swabs were internal.

With my first, my midwife had me do the swab myself in the bathroom. I'm expecting the same when I get it done again in a couple weeks. She's never actually used a speculum on me for either pregnancy.

Not only no speculum with my first pregnancy but I did it myself 🤣 and my next ob appointment is Monday and I was told I’m going to be doing the same thing and I don’t mind it’s very easy and quick , tested negative my first pregnancy hoping to be negative again

I have a hard time with any medical procedure but my OB was so fast and it was just a swab up and down on the outside and it was over before I realized it had began 😂

I’m not having one done because it was in my urine. But before that I was told it would just be a quick swipe with a swab when they do it.

Just the Q tip thingy. Just externally. Was a matter of 5 seconds! I was more nervous than actually needed 😆
