Advice? Online or in person

Question

I’m 33 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I still need to purchase my crib, bassinet and car seat/stroller. I want to buy them online but my partner wants us to check them out in store to see it before we buy it but with all of what’s going on with the virus I’m very skeptical. What do you ladies think? Am I overreacting?

Not an option to shop in store here. But why expose yourself to potential COVID knowing you’re about to give birth? Stick with online and have your partner wipe down any boxes.

Eh, i ran into Buy Buy Baby about 2 weeks ago for some must need things I didn’t want to purchase online. Honestly, there was hardly anyone in there, I wore a mask, got in and got our pretty quickly. To each their own, but if you wanted to not miss out on the joy of picking those things out in person I wouldn’t judge ya for picking them up in store.

Personally I would wait on the crib. My husband broke our last crib so we have to get a new one, but baby won’t sleep in it for 6 months anyway, so hopefully by that point you can go in and see them. Personally I worked in a baby store and would not get a crib I hadn’t seen put together. Those cribs take a beating on the sales floor, people put their toddlers in them, run into them with carts, throw stuff they decided they didn’t want in them. So if all the bolts are holding well in the sales model, you’re probably in good shape for it to hold up well at your house.
The bassinet and car seat are important to have right away, but read lots of reviews online, stick with a reputable company with a good return policy and you’ll be okay. We ordered our stroller/car seat online and hadn’t seen it in person before we got it. But good reviews and had the features I wanted (bike tires vs the plastic tires was a requirement for me!)

I'd say the crib can wait. The carseat and bassinet I'd buy online. Don't risk your family and you can compromise 🤷‍♀️

We had our third three years ago and purchased everything online. Very satisfied with it all. I love having the capability of looking through reviews and not feeling like I had to make a decision right then and there. Ok a researcher though

Get hubby to go into store and video call u that way you both get what you want then just leave it boxed for 2 weeks then wash. 😁

Not sure where you are but here in my state (ky) basically everything has been closed until further notice the only big thing I bought in store the day they shut down was her car seat and stroller the rest I’ve been buying on amazon not a single complain
