Anyone else despise breastfeeding?

I just had my baby on 11/2, and been struggling to get my milk supply to come in. I truly am thinking of nixing this whole breastfeeding idea all together. My boobs hurt like hell. They are hard and pumping feels like slow death. Ready to straight give up!

IT GETS BETTER! It was horrible for me for the first 2 weeks. Nipples were bleeding and cracked. It gets better! I ended up breastfeeding until 3 months after her 2nd birthday!!

Sadly I know how you feel. I had my baby boy on oct 20th and I did breast feed till he turned 2 weeks. It was just a lot and plus they had me supplementing with formula. So in the end I decided to do formula after the two weeks. Everyone is different and has their own views. But it's your decision and if baby is growing and gaining weight correctly then that's all that matters.

It takes at least two weeks for both you and baby to get into the swing of breastfeeding. A nurse told me this when I had my first DD and she was 100% correct. It is very difficult, I know but it will get better. Keep trying for a few more weeks and if you decide to stop, that's ok. Good luck!!

Do what works for you and your family. If you're miserable breastfeeding then it's not worth it. Don't let anyone judge you for doing what is best for you and your baby!

It was really hard for me too, esp at the beginning, but did get easier. Definitely lots of crying. My milk didn't come in until 5 days either. The night before I ended up giving her a little formula in the night after a 3am call to dr bc baby was inconsolable (and apparently hungry - you'll know if baby is truly hungry). It got better eventually. Lactation consultant came and suggested I not pump for a few weeks at first. If I could do it all again (and I guess it's what I hope I'll do this time) i'd keep trying but also know that however you feed your baby is fine so try not to stress or put too much pressure on yourself. You are in charge of nourishing your baby in whatever way works best for both of you!

My milk didn't come in until the 5th day and why are you pumping if I may ask? The colostrum was enough for baby. And when the milk came in it really came in!
