should i get bloodwork some? 5weeks today

first pregnancy & some people have gotten bloodwork some don’t. i did contact my primary care doctor but they’re not doing bloodwork or anything. i could order a lab for $40-$50 but i don’t know if i should get it done or just wait til my 8week appointment 😩

you’ll have plenty of bloodwork done throughout your first trimester. i’ve never heard of a place not doing it. are you talking about for hcg levels?

I’ve had 2 miscarriages and they can prescribe progesterone to help if your levels aren’t rising appropriately. I’d switch doctors if you have to be the one to ask for bloodwork. My office does bloodwork each time around 6 weeks.

Just wait. My OBs only ordered blood work with only one of my pregnancies in the beginning because I was bleeding. It is not necessary or common for OBs to check your levels or do bloodwork in the beginning unless there’s an issue.
