Brown blood in discharge after sex?

I’m 18 weeks, of course this happens on a Friday night! I called the nurse hotline and she asked a million questions and thinks it’s just cervix irritation but I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else...it’s hard to feel confident everything is ok without actually seeing the doctor!

It hasn't happened to me in trimester 2, but it happened to me a few times in the first trimester because of a sensitive cervix. That's pretty typical! As long as your spotting doesn't change to red and flow doesn't increase, it should be fine!

It happened to me a few weeks ago at 19weeks.  I had light pink at first that changed to brown.  My doctor said it’s normal after sex and is just most likely an irritated cervix.  She said as long as it’s not heavy, doesn’t continue without stopping, or isn’t accompanied by contractions/pain, its probably normal.  
Mine stopped after a few days and hasn’t happened again.  I would just monitor it.  This is my third, and I never had ANY bleeding with my other two, so it worries me a little still.  
I also had an anatomy scan a week later, and found out that part of my placenta is covering part of my cervix.  I read that this can also cause bleeding, so that might have been part of my issue too.  Have you had an ultrasound recently?
