Sexuality taught in schools?

I believe youth would be done a great justice if schools included sexual identity education within their curriculum. It would do a great deal to raising awareness and helping kids feel comfortable about who they are. Do you agree? 👩‍❤️‍👩 👨‍❤️‍👨 💑

High school is way too late to introduce this topic as by then opinions and prejudice has already been formed. It needs to be one of those early and often topics. In elementary school not direct teaching just exposure to different types of families. Reading books like Tango makes three, and the princess boy. But direct instruction should be included in sex ed by middle school. Because believe me we have an idea we are gay by then and need safe sex instruction as well. 
As a gay parent of 3 children whom are all straight exposure does not mean they will be confused.

I don't believe that topic has any place in a school setting. Not because I think it is wrong or because I feel children shouldn't be exposed to it, I just feel like that isn't appropriate to teach in an educational setting such as school.

I can teach my child myself.  I believe what gender your born is what your supposed to be.

One concern would be a prejudiced teacher teaching false information.
OR teaching kids too young. I know that as a kid I was VERY impressionable, and if in elementary school we were taught about homosexuality and transgendered people I probably would have thought I was a lesbian. I don't have think I could have differenciated between a friend feeling and a feeling of attraction.

I know all kids aren't like I was, and I know that you don't become gay or trans, but if I knew sexualities were being taught in my child's school and they came home and told me they were gay I would question if they truly were or if they honestly got confused.

It's funny you say this, but another woman posted about getting her daughter (12) on birth control because she's having problems and people jump down her throat thinking how could a 12 year old think about sex.... Then people want more sex education in school ans wonder how a 12 year old can become curious about things they don't fully understand when they are taught.

They do this in parts of Canada. In my area it got disrespectful after the classes but I think taught properly its good. What I mean by disrespectful is the it was taught that if you liked one gender over the other you are close minded. Basically the teaching was everyone should be bi to be open minded.

Yes i do think it should be taught in schools( as an option) but my only question would be...... What class should they teach it in?
