Bleeding while on the patch

I placed my last patch for this month on Sunday. I had some light spotting on Monday evening. Early Tuesday morning the flood gates opened. I put in a tampon and went back to work. I felt all the blood putting pressure on my tampon like it was going to push it out. I changed to pads and nothing would happen unless I went from a seated position to standing. Since this has started I have been really tired and sleeping a lot.

My normal period lasts 3-4 days. And I am now going into day 5. Has this ever happened to anyone else while being on the patch?

P.S. I have been on the patch for about 9 months. I have not had any unusual bleeding or spotting before this.
