So, I know that old blood tends to have a brown colour, I have experienced a little bit of brownish spotting after my period leading up to ovulation. However, this is day 2 into a two day early period and everything has a darkish brown colour to it. The blood, the clots, even the bits of uterus lining. There’s no distinct smell to the blood itself but there is a bit of an unusual smell down there. It isn’t fishy so I’m not too concerned about an infection, the fact that there isn’t any other symptoms except for the usual cramping also takes away that concern. On the other hand, I have never experienced such unusual blood colouring. Plus, I usually experience a medium to heavy flow throughout the entirety of my period, there is hardly anything this time. It actually feels kinda dry down there. I do use birth control to help regulate and “calm down” my periods, I change pads and underwear everyday, I try my best to keep that area as clean as possible usually only using water sometimes with an unscented feminine wash. I can’t see hygiene being a problem... I’m just wonder if the, pretty sudden, change of colouring and general blood flow is normal and isn’t anything to worry about. Considering yesterday, day one, I had my usual heavy flow, fairly harsh cramps, regular colouring in the blood, and a little bit of nausea, this is very odd to me.

I’m really sorry about this picture, I know that it’s quite disgusting because of the colour... this is all blood. (I’m usually not grossed out by my period, it’s just that the colour is very to 💩, which is what worries me...).
