Washing your hair less & in cold water could help preserve the length of color in your hair. 
Bleach for a highlight though takes color away, so you can’t like ... wash it out. Washing it less could help keep it healthy since bleach can be so damaging.

Not sure about the “dirty” part. I’ve had every stylist I’ve seen tell me not to wash my hair everyday because it’ll strip the color faster. It’s been recommended to me to wash every two or three days. I’d also say to use a shampoo and conditioner that’s specifically for colored hair and sulfate free. Highlighting is essentially taking color out of hair and that makes it lighter due to the bleach. For blonde dyed hair and highlighted hair you should check out purple shampoos because they help keep the color light and target that brassy yellow color.
