Part of tampon fell off inside me???

Please help me - I had a tampon in for maybe around 8 hours and when I tried to take it off it was STUCK INSIDE MY VAGINA and I tried pulling but it really hurt and wasn’t budging. I was so nervous I jumped in the shower and sprayed water up there and slowly tried to dislodge myself from the tampon and I sort of peeled it off... and when it finally came off IT LOOKED LIKE A CHUNK OFF THE TOP WAS MISSING????

I squatted down and put my whole finger all the way up and didn’t feel anything there but I’m so nervous bc I know it can cause toxic shock syndrome.

Do you think that’s normal ??

Maybe it fell off too and I didn’t notice ??
