15 month old not consistently responding to name?

Anyone's toddler not consistently responding to name ? Mine doesn't often, at times I guess he will. Seems like if he's doing something and I call out his name, he usually won't turn his head toward me.  That kinda worries me cuz all I see online is that its a huge red flag for autism.  He's been walking since 14 months, smiles, laughs, seems pretty playful, points at things and brings things to us. Is anyone else going through this.?  His hearing test at birth is fine and I'm sure it's fine now cuz he turns his head at sudden sounds.   Could the not responding to name also be normal? Just wondering if anyone is experiencing this.

I’m not a doctor but I am a teacher and have a dear friend with a child with autism. There are MANY other red flags that are more concerning than not responding to his name. Namely not making eye contact, not showing emotion, and delayed speech.  
I’m pretty sure this is fairly normal momma!

If you’re concerned have hearing checked again. My son had hearing loss and can hear a lot of sounds but doesn’t hear others. It won’t hurt anything to get hearing checked. But I really think your toddler is being a toddler.

My son responds half the time the other half he’s too busy. But I think that’s pretty toddlers like. My toddler isn’t speaking yet either I’m more worried about that

Do you often call him by nicknames or anything other than his real name? Maybe he hasn’t learned exactly what his name is if he’s not used to hearing it all the time. My daughter knows her name really well and usually responds to hearing it but sometimes she does ignore us when she wants to haha

My daughter doesn’t! It’s like she’s ignoring us. She used to show responses to her name and now she doesn’t. She used to say a few words and now she just doesn’t want to. I have no clue why and I haven’t been able to take her into the doctor for obvious reasons. So I’m following!
