Does ovulation spotting occur before, during, or after ovulation?

Trying to figure out if we BD too late this month as we BD on 2nd day of ovulation spotting!

It has to occur after you ovulate as the bleeding is the egg breaking through  the follicle

Use opks to know when your about to ovulate and Temp to confirm ovulation and you will know when you ovulated and dpo and can match it up. It’s usually before and during ovulation.
