A lot? No. You should eat healthy. Those with GD even have to limit carbs.

Just be careful. I could only eat carbs initially and then I was diagnosed with GD. Diabetes do run in my family, but I could have prevented it by eating healthier and exercising. So don't carb overload. Id say eat balanced. Don't use oregnancy as an excuse to "eat whatever you want" the baby still gets nutrients from you and bread and pasta doesn't have much nutritional value.

it's hard when all you can do is keep carbs down. my boss gained 75# her first pregnancy because she could only do carbs. she found whey protein shakes helped. look for pregnancy safe protein powder (low trace mineral counts). good luck!

There's no rule balance of all essential  nutrients is best. But if your getting sick from anything but carbs like I was in my first trimester than stick to carbs for now

For the most part it's whatever you can keep down. I'm sure doctors recommend you to eat fairly healthy but carbs are definitely okay. All I eat is carbs tbh and sweets because that's what baby girl likes 😍 I'm 32 weeks Sunday and have gained 7lbs. If you are worried about gaining weight I would just not overload on carbs

I notice I eat more carbs when pregnant I think my body craves the extra calories meat veggies fruit while I eat them they just aren't enough hope this helps no need to over think it just move a little more
