Do celebrity doctors give trustworthy medical advice?

Question

By celebrity doctors I mean those that have paid appearances on entertainment TV shows or have their own show like Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Dr. Drew, etc. 
Do you trust their advice? 
What about when they give medical opinions outside of their given expertise?

No they don’t. They are pushing whatever agenda they get paid to push whether that be “skinny tea” that’s actually just laxatives or the belief that 2-3% of kids dying is okay and we should open back up schools.

“Dr.” Oz is snake oil salesman
“Dr.” Phil isn’t licensed to practice psychology anywhere as his licence is registered as retired. 
If it doesn’t come from my own co-workers/health board, and can’t be verified by multiple sources including WHO, I don’t trust it. I don’t even trust my new GP.

I never trust the word of any doctor by itself. I do independent research from multiple sources while taking my doctor’s advice under consideration and give me a starting point on what to look for.
There have been times when my doctors gave me bad advice. There have been times when my doctors gave me the best advice. If I blindly followed my doctor who gave me less than great advice (or especially a random celebrity doctor) it could have caused me more issues in the long run.

Some of them do. I trust Dr. Mike because he will be the first to tell you that doctors don't know everything and have their own biases that shape their judgement. He also always includes a "I'm not your doctor, you need to see your doctor" disclaimer before giving out *generic* medical advice on a situation (Why do you have a cough? Well the easy answer is allergies or a cold, but if you're experiencing other symptoms like x, y, z then it could also be a bunch of other things like A, B, C). He doesn't pretend to be an expert in every field of medicine, admitting that he can only use information he learned in pre-med or what he can find in medical journals and bringing in other (often times NOT social media/celebrity doctors) doctors that are trained in their given fields.

None of these “doctors” are medical professionals. Please do your research if you find their words credible. They might sound true in many instances but it never hurts to be sure.

Dr Drew I do because I know his work personally and what he does behind the camera in regards to addiction. Dr Phil isnt even a doctor so I dont get how he can have that title legally, and the rest I dont know because I have never seen them on tv.

Yes, often. In one of the after season reunions of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Evans’ ex Nathan expresses concern for Jenelle and their son together. He said David, Jenelle’s current husband, is controlling and abusive. Dr. Drew responded with this paraphrased response: “but isn’t Jenelle usually out of control? Don’t you think she NEEDS to be controlled?” Absolutely disgusting.
I forget what it was, but something Dr. Oz said recently was so wrong. I wish I could remember. But he often encourages unhealthy advice for weight loss.
