ADHD and Breastfeeding?

How are you handling ADHD while breastfeeding? If you’re taking medications, does it affect the baby?
I’m also curious, how does ADHD affect your day to day life? I feel like I have a major case of ADHD and will need to get that checked out, but I wanna hear your stories. :)

I have a savere case of A.D.D. it's basically ADHD but mostly the inattentive type. My obgyn told me not to take my Adderall while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding. It can pass to baby and cause the baby to develop an addiction to it. Then once the baby stops breastfeeding or is born the baby will go through withdrawal. It's really difficult for me to function with my daily life but I just make sure that my husband and family know that I'm not taking my medication and may have a hard time functioning. They are all understanding and try to help the best they can. Just let the people you know that your having some a hard time but it's for the good of the baby and they should be understanding and may be willing to help you the best they can. Just hang in there. I plan on breastfeeding for the first month then switching to formula so that way the baby gets my antibodies and then I can start taking my medication to be able to properly function. 💕
