Flu shot while preggo?

The flu can be deadly to newborns, and when you get the flu shot while pregnant, baby is protected for six months after birth. With having a baby due in the middle of flu season, I definitely got my flu shot. While not 100% effective, it's giving my baby the best shot of avoiding a possibly sadly illness! I am so thankful to live in a place where these vaccines are readily available!

I never get one. Pregnant or not. The flu shot is a money and guessing game. And generally very ineffective. Not worth it to me.

I got mine. Last time I was pregnant I got sick with the flu and it was awful and you then can't take anything for it but Tylenol which doesn't really help. Had me down for a while. So this time got mine and so is everyone around me

I won't be getting it. My midwife asked me did I want to get it and I told her know. She told me she don't like her moms to get it because the shot can put you in the hospital. Saying that it is possible it'll make you sick which would be hard to fight off now. I'm happy that she was honest and not all in for the money. She did tell me to clear away from any ill person which I normally do.

I got one this past Monday. If you get it at the OB they will give you the special flu shot for pregnant women. In my case, it was covered completely by my insurance. It was not painful I didn't even feel the nurse give me the shot. I am usually the type of person that bruises a lot after a shot but I didn't bruise at all. It is worthwhile because it protects you and the baby from getting the flu.

I got mine at 19 weeks somewhere around there and my doctor said that baby would also be born with the immunities. Otherwise I never get them when not pregnant.

I turned down the one my Ob offered only to switch from my pediatrician to an adult doctor who told me I need it this year since I've had multiple upper respiratory viruses and infections recently that just won't go away

I said no at my appointment today, they pretty much told me I need it, so I got it. I never get the flu shot, so I wasn't planning on starting

I just had to get it the other day. Makes sense tho. My 5 year old is in kindergarten and is constantly spreading different illnesses around
