Say you and your partner have a child and disagree on whether or not to have any more. You are really hoping for another one while your partner is strongly against it. Would it be mean for them to tell you, and act like, they want another one as a “prank”?

It’s definitely cruel. When my SO and I decided to start trying, I was so excited then that same month he took it back and said not right now..which made me feel like shit because I couldn’t stop what had already been done. The first time wasn’t even a prank but it still broke my spirit. Then the next month came and we ended up continuing to try and he was fully in at that point. 
For someone to do or say it as a prank is so wrong and hurtful especially knowing it means something to you.

I’m in the same boat but without the prank part. I’m ready to get pregnancy, buying diapers, crying and no sleep OVER WITH! My husband is against it.

Yes. You should have discussed how many kids you wanted before getting married. Too late for that now, though, hope you can have honest communication with your partner and figure it out. Maybe time will change one of your minds.
